"Say hey little fishie, would you like to take a swim with me? Down in the deep blue sea!" That's a song from a Baby Einstein video that Cooper and Davis used to watch when they were little, and I couldn't get it out of my head while we were at the aquarium! They love walking in this tunnel....come to think of it..so do I! Last year when we were here, we got to see a man feeding the sting rays. He was wearing a wet suit and waved at us. We got a picture with him too....I'll have to dig that up and post it. Rubye Ann was all snuggly in her wrap sling. She stayed in there the whole time. We went to see an IMax afterwards and about halfway through she decided it was time for her to come out, so she let me know very quickly and loudly!

Cooper got to pet a baby nurse shark. Davis WAS standing right next to him, but I think the thought of touching a shark kinda freaked him out and he took off.

This was more Davis' speed..looking at them, NOT touching them. He cracks me up....to be so tough, he sure does have some funny hangups....

This was what they came for....the shark tank. Wouldn't that be funny if all of a sudden while people were strolling along looking at the sharks, the loudpeakers suddenly started blarring the theme from JAWS?!?!? Not really, huh? BTW, there WAS a shark in front of them, but he swam away before I could get the pic and the "marine biologist" (take that with a grain of salt) who was standing behind me kept telling his wife that the "big ones are baracudas". Wonder if he stayed in a Holiday Inn.....

The petting zoo was back in operation! Last year when we went, I think there were a few goats and a couple of chickens thanks to Katrina. Anyway, there were a few more animals this year.

Cooper enjoyed the lambs. I'm not sure if this is the one, but there was one lamb that was running and jumping around and bleating as loud as it could. cooper was laughing hysterically at it. I think the lamb had just had a cup of New Orleans coffee loaded with chicory!!! That little thing was FAST!

Cetting close to the end of the zoo trip...can you tell? Look at everyone's hair! NICE!

The last Zoo shot...in front of the elephant fountain. Next stop....AQUARIUM!!!!! Look out fishies, here we come!
BTW, Rubye Ann had decided the zoo was not all it was cracked up to be and was snozzing peacefully and sweating in her car set! I guess I should have snapped a pic.....

Here's the fam in Jackson Square. A nice fellow tourist offered to snap this pic for us. Davis asked who they were afterwards and we said we didn't know. Then he asked "why?" I'll bet you can figure out how the rest of that conversation went.... Davis is the only smart one in the bunch.....he had the sense to put on his sunglasses while the rest of us squinted and got blinded! Aren't we cool?!?!? LOL

I like the angle of this pic of the boys infront of St. Louis Cathedral. To the left is Pirate's Alley. If you were to walk straight down Pirate's Alley, it would lead you to the front door where you got in to our condo. Great location. Walking distance to beignets! Can't beat that!

This shot cracks me up. Our first stop on this day was the Audubon Zoo. That would be an orguntan (I didn't spell it right and i don't feel like looking it up..)perched on top of that pole. To let you know how high he is, I had the lens zoomed all the way in...he just sat there, arms folded staring right at us. He almost looks like he's thinking.."What??? Haven't you ever seen a monkey on a pole??!?!" All I could think was "Left turn, Clyde.." Anybody remember that? lol

Clyde decided to be sociable and came down to get a better look at us......I don't think he was too impressed......

Our first morning.....sitting out on the balcony of our apartment. Or as Cooper called it "repartment" and Davis called it "bubpartment". This is the same condo Jamie and I stayed in on our honeymoon. Jamie's mom knows a freind who knows a friend....yada yada yada, you know how that goes! The boys loved it! One of the funniest things about the balcony happened when Jamie was trying to open the doors. They just would not come open. He tried every one. We were both thinking "Great." Then Davis says, " It's this thing Daddy." There was a white bar that went horizontal across the shutter and kept it from opening. So once Jamie followed Davis' advice..we were able to go out! The look on Jamie's face when he realized Davis knew exactly what he was talking about was priceless. If I had been on my toes I would have caught it with the camera.

One thing Jamie and I couldn't get over was how clean the streets were. Look at that....that is Royal Street in the Quarter. I think it's cleaner that some of the streets here in Ruston! Hard to fathom the French Quarter with clean streets.....the whole time!

Breakfast at Cafe du Monde. Davis hogged down on some beignets! If you look real close you can see all the powdered sugar on his nose.

Cooper got down with them too! I was snapping away. We acted like such tourists! This was just the beginning to a BIG day!

Well, we made it back! We had a great time!
We started our trip in Baton Rouge with a stop downtown at the planetarium

Cooper and Davis LOVED the planets display. It was done to show the sizes of all the planets. Really puts it into perspective. Look how small Earth is compared to Jupiter and Saturn....

Of course, a trip to Baton Rouge would not be complete without a stop at LSU to see Mike the tiger. Obviously that is not the REAL Mike....he was alseep in a corner of his habitat and we couldn't get a good pic.

A short stop to see some cousins and off to New Orleans....

Coop's ready for the ball.....

Is this t-ball or football? That's Davis on the left edge of the pic...he wants to be part of the dogpile...

I will not be posting the rest of the week after today. Heartbreaking isn't it? Anyway, we are taking the kids to Baton Rouge and New Orleans. I hope we have some great pics when we get home!

More t-ball pics! Here is Davis on third base with his coach...looks an awful lot like Jamie huh?

I'm sure when the batter hit the ball Jamie told Davis "Take off!" So he did. Wait....is he going the right way?!?!!?

NOPE! Davis took off toward what would be the pitcher's mound.....now that's classic! He is only three....gotta love it.

And here we are inspecting the grass...like I said...he is only three.... Later on I asked him what he was looking at. He said,
"Ants."
