Time to see some skyscrapers..Walsworth style. D. worked so hard on this creation. It took him quite a while to construct. He sat back and admired his own handywork as I shot pics for him.
Moments after this shot was taken however, the top of the tower crumbled. You can see in the picture how precariously it is leaning…
He took it well….
Moving on from the ever impressive cow milking to the ever entertaining goat chasing. RA was a bit intimidated, so the sweet grandson of the owners caught a little kid and brought it over to my little kid. Get it??? I crack myself up sometimes…Anyway, she was so proud that one of bubbies friends brought her a baby goat!

After the hike, we went to a local farm that hosts tours for schools and does birthday parties. The owners grandson is in C.’s class. RA was so excited to see everything and to hang out with her bubbie. Her bubbie was a good sport and let her tag along…
This was the lesson on “How to Milk a Cow”…
…judging by the look on RA’s face, I don’t think she was too impressed with the milking session…

C.’s class took a field trip at the beginning of the month to the highest point in Louisiana, Mt. Driskell. Hold on to your hat, it’a a whopping….are you ready for this? 535 feet. We hiked allllllll the way up that bad boy….
had a nice picnic lunch at the summit..
and then listened as a certain 4 year old complained that her “wegs are tiwerd,” allll the way down.
Our final day took us to the Dallas City Zoo. It was quite impressive and big! Its bigger than the NOLA zoo. The chimps were the best part. They were hilarious. Not because they were swinging around and messin’ with each other. But because they were extremely possessive of their bedding. Odd? Very. Funny? Extremely.
This guy seemed like a little grumpy, old man to me. Geezer is his name. Geezer was a tad gray and would not let go of his nest for anything, drug that mess all over the habitat with him. Up the stone steps,
down the stone steps.

Back to the play area. He looks a tad preturbed here. Some other chimp must’ve got a wee bit too close the THE NEST.
He finally stopped dragging the nest for a snack break.
Not only was Clyde graceful, hungry and cool, but Clyde had a trick. I was taken by surprise by this trick, and little grossed out at the same time. He was so calm nibbling from my hand….
and then out of nowhere, he shows us this:

I totally had no idea that a giraffe’s tongue is as long as my forearm….. and strong. C. loved it !
Clyde literally curled his tongue around the food niblet in my fingers. He used it kinda like the way an elephant uses its trunk.
I included this pic for the sole reason of D. sitting in the back. Look at that poor boy’s face. Somebody had stomped his bad toe…..again.
Day 2 had us returning to Fossil Rim drive thru safari park. We took the kids here the last time we came to Dallas/Ft. Worth. the boys remembered it but Sister was only one so this was really so she could see it all. It was still just as awesome as it was three years ago.
Mr. Ostrich was trying to figure out if we were going to give him anything. Well, after the one from the last trip bit J. and grabbed the feed bag from his lap we were all a bit hesitant to just put our hands and fingers out there for the taking…
This is how the window looked for most of the tour. Unless of course someone was whining about someone else taking up too much room, or someone claiming the window as his..or hers…OR someone crying because someone else stepped on his bad toe…
Mr. Emu came by for a handout and little Miss Fearless popped her hand out there with a food niblet and he took it from her. Gently too, I might add….
