Not much today..no new pics. Cooper's first week of school went great. Davis' hair has not showed any signs of lengthening.
Rubye Ann is trying to sit up alone. I'll put her down and let go, she will sit upright for about 15 seconds and then very slowly starts to lean forward....
Have a good weekend and Labor Day. Oh yeah, sure hope ole Gustav doesn't hurt New Orleans.

and I couldn't get Davis to even look at me! He was sound asleep!

Look at those cheeks!

Well, remember a few months back when I said sometimes blog fodder just falls into my lap? It has happened again, thanks to Davis!Check out the story board of pics I put up.
Kid scissors and brush on bathroom sink plus

Pieces of blond hair in bottom of sink equals...

Self-given haircut!!!!!!!
He was so proud of himself, I just didn't have the heart to get upset with him. It's only hiar, it will grow back...eventually. Thank goodness we had portraits LAST week!
I guess that's what I get for trying to get supper ready early and talk on the phone at the same time. Yesterday was a first for Davis as well as Cooper. It was his first day at home without big brother. And if his darn Mommy would pay attention to him instead of yakking on the phone and cook, I bet this could have been avoided! But then, I wouldn't have this funny blog entry today!!! Here's how it went down.
Lately, Davis has gotten to where he likes to paly with the spray bottle I use to comb thier crazy bed head with in the mornings. As I said, I was yakking on the phone and cooking and he comes in showing me all the different ways one can "Style" wet hair. Then all of a sudden he comes in LAUGHING VERY VERY HARD and says look at me Mama! I look over and give him the "uh huh" with a half smile to show him yes I see you. DAVIS: Isn't it funny?
ME: uh huh...
Davis: I cut it Mama....
Me: .....
ME: YOU CUT IT?!?!?!??!!
Davis: Yep. Just like Mrs. Jill!!!!!!!
ME: WITH SICISSORS?!?!??!?!?! I gotta go...click...dial tone.....

After I saw all the evidence from the above pics I looked at his face, and all the new forehead, and I started laughing and began snapping away with our camera. Here's a pic of him at breakfast that same morning before the "cut". Hey, at least he was truthful about it. His cousin cut his hair one time when he was little and tried to pass it off with this excuse.."the scisors just flew across the room.." now that's funny!!!

This was the first day last year, going into Pre-K

This is this morning, going off to Kindergarten! He is sooooo proud of his new lunch box. It has the solar system on it. He LOVES the solar system! I was fine all the way to school this morning. Then he got out of the car. I lost it. And I couldn't seem to find it all the way home. I haven't found it yet( 8:45 ) but I'm getting closer.....

Michael Phelps? I'm not so impressed..

Bejing can't hold a candle to the olympics right here in my living room! Here are my olympic swimmers.

Waiting for the signal...

into the "water" they dive....

the race is on......

Look at Davis' hat. That's really a doctor's hat that goes with one of our costumes. I asked him why he was wearing it to "swim race" in. His answer? "It's my swim hat Mama, like the hats those swimmers wear in the "lympics". That's what they do". Ahh... smart kid!

Sound familiar?

So, the internet was down this morning and we were off to meet Cooper's Kindergarten teacher and then to Monroe.
I took the camera so I could get a pic of Cooper and Mrs. White. Well, guess what?!?!?!?! Yep! NO CAMERA CARD...

AGAIN!!!!!!!!
Seems to be some kind of epidemic I think.
Anyway, here's a pic I snapped the other day when Cooper got in Rubye Aann's crib with her after she woke up from her nap..

Sorry the post is so late today, we had a well-baby checkup this morning. Our chunky monkey is tipping the scales at 17 pounds! WOW!!! Here she is hugging her beloved "Lily Mae". I did not choose the name..it is printed on there. She sleeps with this frog and her pappi (pacifier) every night. She looks so peaceful....do they make adult size frogs and pappis?

Lots of rain makes LOTS of MUD!!! Have you ever seen such a sight? That's our neighbor joining the boys in the mud, check out how they slimed it all over the slide...

Cooper made himself a beard....

Poor girl...

So I have to tell you, last night I thought I was going to have an awesome post today. Cooper told Jamie he was ready to try riding his new bike with out the training wheels. Before I go any further, just know that the last posts of Cooper practing without training wheels from June, was the LAST TIME we worked on it.... So, anyway, Cooper tells Jamie last night to take the training wheels off the new bike. I grab Rubye Ann and the camera..jamie gets him on and runs with him a couple of feet and lets go and COOPER TOOK OFF!!!!! He rode all the way down the street and back BY HIMSELF. Hasn't practiced in two months, hops on, and within MINUTES he's doing it on his own. I took tons of pictures.....where are they you ask? NO CAMERA CARD IN THE CAMERA...

So yesterday was a rainy day....the first real one all summer long. Well, about 4:00 yesterday the natives began to get restless, as you can imagine. I walk into the kitchen to find this......
Davis had decided that Rubye Ann's little blankie looked better on top of her head and was also sharing his beloved Pokemon cads with her. As you can see....she loved them to death...literally......I had to throw that card in her hand away. It had been slobbered on until it was reduced to a ball of yuck!

While I was snapping pics of Rubye Ann and Davis, Cooper comes leaping in through the hall door. Scared me to death, was SOOO not expecting that! I asked him what in the world he was doing.....

His answer..."Teaching myself to fly Mama. Look Davis, I almost did it!" Yep, that's what happpens at our house on a rainy day!

I have lots of pics on my camera that I have taken but haven't loaded on the computer yet. Soooo, this is the only pic from July that I haven't posted. It is pouring down rain so maybe today I can finally sit and load them and have new pics for the blog. School starts Monday after next for Cooper. If he was going into first grade...this would be his last week. I have mixed feelings about this......I'm not sure I'm ready for summer to be over yet.

So, we are building a deck. "We" as in Jamie. Looks like fun..but I'm a bit tied up at the moment. Any way we started this the weekend before Coop's b-day and Jamie was finishing up the last few screws last night. Here you can see all the "professional" help he is getting!

The boys had such a good time....they would find old scraps of wood and hammer nails down or they would "measure stuff"

I think Davis got into more than Cooper. I've seen him out there learning how to use the drill as well. He's into it I tell you!

Mocha and Dutch are supervising..
