Pity Party

As far as weeks go this one has run a close second to last week in the race of Bad Weeks.  Wanna hear about it?  No?  Too bad, here goes: I am awakened at dark thirty on Monday morning (4:45 am to be exact) to hear RA hiccupping… hiccupping at that time of night/morning can only mean one thing…yep. Vomit. Everywhere. I managed to get her to the bathroom and get her through the worst of it.  Then began the clean up….that’s something I do not wish on my worst enemy.  I need to back up.  Theres a long running joke between J. and I. Whenever he leaves to work out of town for the week, it never fails that while he is absent, some or all of us get really sick.  J. left the house that morning at 4:30 am to catch a plane to KY. Literally 15 minutes after he leaves, RA throws up.  I’m telling you it never fails!  She was sick off and on the rest of the morning and finally fell asleep around noon and slept until the boys got home from school.  After that, she was great!  She ate a few crackers and sprite for supper and went to bed that night feeling much better.  Tuesday morning, she woke up even better.  Asked for breakfast and ate some more and kept it down.  Same thing at lunch.  By the time the boys got home she was running around outside! She ate supper and then went to bed all fine and dandy.  I was feeling pretty good about it and was glad she was over the tummy bug.  she slept great all night until 5 am, and then guess what.  Yep.  I hear it again..hiccupping and  vomit. I was dumbfounded!  Got her cleaned up and started on the bed.  Later that morning the throwing up changed courses and she began to have diarherra ( sp?) She’s had it all day. So that’s where we are.  I put her to bed at 8:00 hoping we make it through the night.  Also hoping the boys don’t wake up in the middle of the night hiccupping…  well, enough of the pity party.. lets go back to DW!

Sister had been waiting for this for a while and we finally made it:May 2012 390

She waited in line very patiently chattering on and on about which princesses she would get to meet.  She had her autograph book and pen ready.May 2012 392

Princess Auroua aka Sleeping Beauty was first.  RA walked right up and gave her the pen and book and chit chatted with the Princess and then posed sweetly.May 2012 399

Belle from Beauty and the Beast was next.  Sister was not as enamoured this time.  In fact, she was a bit freaked out.  Something about Belle got off with her and she clung to me like she used to when she was a baby!  That girl literally jumped up in my arms when Belle walked over to her, and wouldn’t get down. Look how she is leaning her head on my shoulder, almost like ‘if I lean hard enough that girl in the yellow dress wont see me’!May 2012 402

The last princess was Cinderella.  RA loved her. Cinderella talked and talked and RA was totally at ease this time. She even got a hug!May 2012 410

Calgon, take me away….

What a week!  I for one, am sooooo glad this past week is just that.  In the past.  So when I left off last week I had informed everyone of my new adventure back into the job world. Yeah, that went over like a lead balloon.  The week before I actually started I was beginning to have a few second thoughts.  But I just shook them off telling myself not to be a baby and suck it up. People  do this everyday… Well, the night before I was awake most of the night tied up in knots over what I had gotten myself into.  Many tears were shed. I went to my classroom and choked back tears all day. I was so glad to get to carline and pick up MY babies. I wanted to be around MY babies. Not someone elses. That night and the next day were pretty much a repeat.  Now, I have to mention also that I was having a hard time managing everything.  Homework, meals, laundry, house, errands, etc. and try to figure out how I was going to teach three year olds!  Jamie was helping just like he always does, but I still felt like a fish floundering around.  I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t seem to do much of anything.  When offspring #1 came down one morning and announced there were no uniforms to wear to school, I completely lost it.  Jamie to the rescue.  While I stood in the closet blubbering like an idiot, he managed to throw some wet clothes in the dryer and get them dry for the kids. That did it.  Later that afternoon I went to the director of MDO and sat in her office and cried and cried about how I jumped into this too soon, I wasn’t ready yet and how sorry I was to be  telling her this. How I felt like I still needed to be at home for the kids . She graciously said she understood and had been in my shoes and would look for a replacement. Immediately, I felt soooo much better.  As I was on the phone with Jamie telling him all about it, I get a call from the kids school.  They were calling to tell me that D. had had a slight accident at recess and hit his head…I then cut off the caller and informed her I was on my way.  Two hours later we left Urgent Care with 5 stitches:  photo

My boy tripped over another child and hit his head on a bench.  What a way to end the week. Start a job, quit a job, watch someone sew up your child’s head. Like I said before, glad this week is OVER!

Kiddie Coaster

We moved onto the next ride with Goofy’s  kiddie rollercoaster. This is one of the rides I had never, ever ridden before. Again, very short wait time.May 2012 380

Sister had to measure up for some rides.  Sometimes, like this time, she made the cut. Other times, she didn’t.   That bow sure came in handy on a few rides where it was questionable whether or not she was tall enough..SmileMay 2012 381 - Copy

Here we go, up the main hill.  You can barely see the pink bow.May 2012 387

As we go around the big curve.  It really wasn’t that big, but it seemed big to the little people.  This coaster had a lot of these turns that lean in.   C. was not impressed. At all. In fact, it is quite safe to say that he didn’t like this ride one. single. bit.  He doesn’t like the feel of the car leaning over in the curves. I know Sister liked it and I think D. kinda liked it.  He was on the fence about it.May 2012 389

Hundred Acres..

We decided to pay a visit to Pooh Bear and Piglet, and Eeyore, and Tigger and of course Christopher Robin.May 2012 361

This actually happened to be one of the longer waits for us.  Turns out the long wait was due to a system malfunction and they ended up shutting the ride down for a few hours.  Thankfully the offspring had plenty of things to do to keep from protesting the wait. We ended up moving on and eventually came back to this one later on.May 2012 370

This is the addition to Fantasy Land I mentioned in the last post.  May 2012 378

So, I have some news.  Just when I think  I’m getting settled into a new home routine, God throws me a curve ball.  I have all the kids in school, the same school mind you, and I’m thinking about how I will have the house all to myself everyday and I can get my chores done without interruptions constantly and work on projects, and how calm it will all be.  Then BAM!  Curve ball.  I got a phone call Tuesday morning from a friend asking if I would be the new Pre-K 3 teacher at our church’s Mothers Day Out program.  Wow.  Wasn’t expecting that.  I hemmed and hawed about it and called J. and we hemmed and hawed together about it and finally came to the decision that I could probably handle it.  Its three days a week from 9:30 to 2:30.  Sooooo, I called them back and accepted the offer. My mind has been reeling ever since.  You probably thought I was going say I was pregnant didn’t you????

Welcome to Fantasy Land…

After walking through the castle we emerged in my absolute favorite part of WDW…Fantasy Land.  Well, Fantasy Land  AND Main Street. I love the look and feel of this part of the park.  They were adding an addition to Fantasy Land while we were there.  Its going to have a mini-rollercoaster themed ride with the 7 Dwarfs.  Think along the lines of a runaway mine cart..it should be beat when its finished.  Guess we will have to go back to find out huh?? Smile

Our first ride to enjoy was Cooper’s all time favorite.  I say “all time” like the kid has been a bunch of times… he’s only been once before. But, we rode this ride over and over the last time so it HAD to be first this trip:  Peter Pan’s Flight!May 2012 306

May 2012 312

Then we popped across the street for one of my favorites:  It’s A Small World.  Notice the wait time…May 2012 316

Last time we went it was the end of summer and those lanes were packed with folks.  This time we went in May and the wait time was awesome.  Sometimes we were able to get on immediately like this time.  Other times we only waited 15 to 20 minutes!!  It was great considering how the last time we went, there were times we waited in line for 2 hours!!  I love this ride because of all the colors and countries to see.  I don’t like this ride because for hours and hours after getting off I can’t get that song out of my head…May 2012 340

Looking at these pics makes me want to go again..now.May 2012 343

..and I’m back…..

Well, summer is over and we are back to the school routine.  I got some of my goals accomplished on my hiatius. I got all the blog posts published in books up to the year 2011.  That was as far as I could go.  I can’t make a post then go upload in a book like I wanted. So, at the end of this year, I will be doing the 2012 book.  I also learned something while getting the blog published: stick to four or five pics per entry.  It just makes the layout in the book go much easier, and right now I need easy.  I was enjoying putting more than 4 pics at a time on the posts, but it was such a hassle to get them on a page layout for a book that I was about to go crazy!!! I got some of the yearbooks of pictures made as well.  Right now I am about to start on year 2005.  I worked on a new furniture project which is still not finished , but getting closer! It’s an old buffett that I am converting into a tv stand.  It had been painted grey and white, so I had to strip it down. Now I have to go and fill in some gashes and holes with putty then stain it… We had a super busy summer with all kinds of kid camps, and vacations, and projects.  School started back two weeks ago and Sister started with her bubbies this year.  My house is very quiet and a tad lonely.  I’m getting used to it though and pretty soon I’ll be busier than ever.  Each kid is starting fall activities soon.  I’m going to have a soccer player, a baseball player and a dancer.

I believe I left off in July with posts on our Disney trip, so that’s where I will start up.  After we walked up Main Street among the throng of families just like ourselves, we decided to get one more family pic. We thought it would look nice in front of the castle. Also, because all the other families were doing it and we figured we should.  So. We got ourselves positioned the way we wanted.  A kind stranger offered to take one of all of us, so we accepted her offer. This is what we got:

May 2012 290

Maybe I expect too much, but when I think of a family pic in front of Cinderella’s castle, I kind of imagine the WHOLE castle in the pic and the WHOLE face of all the family members as well.  I don’t know, maybe its just me….

Thanks kind stranger for your help..but don’t quit your day job.
