Cookies!

Time to get started!  I got their work area set up, rolled out the dough and let ‘em go to town.  You may notice that Sister’s hair is straight.  We got haircuts earlier that day and the last few times we have gone, she has asked Mrs. Jill to make her curls straight. Looks cute, but I prefer the curls.  She prefers it straight. Naturally.december 2012 002

We waited two days before we decorated them.  We had been diagnosed with flu and I wanted to make sure everyone had several doses of Tamiflu in them before we held those cookies in our hands and breathed all over them.  We still breathed on them cutting them out, but I figure the hot oven baked all the germs away right?  I know, I’m stretching a bit but I’ll take anything…december 2012 001

Magic seeds

First off, I misinformed you all on the girl elf’s name.  Her name is not Sparkle, it is Glitter.  We woke up a couple of mornings ago to this note left by the elves.  It told the kids to plant the magic seeds at bedtime in a bowl of sugar and see what grew while they were asleep.

*sigh*….

This was the surprise that Freddy brought back to us.  His little sister.  RA named her Sparkle. These two are sure to have some fun together.December 2012 001

I took an unexpected trip and have not felt like blogging. My mama passed away. Im still reeling. I will do my best to keep everyone up to date on Freddy and Sparkle and their adventures, but it may just be pictures only.  I don’t know.  I just don’t feel chatty or witty or even remotely funny.

Yum!

Freddy had a treat for us this morning. He made breakfast!  In the last post I talked about how D. was usually the first one to find Freddy and he scurried about while C. and Sister wallered on the couch.  Well.  This morning C. was the first up outta the bed like a ninja scurrying around. While he was on the hunt I was upstairs attempting to drag D. and Sister out of bed.  During this process I could hear C. running up the stairs calling for D.  He had found Freddy and was sooo excited.  He bounced into the room and announced that Freddy had made pancakes.  At that point D. hit the floor running.  Sister still needed to be roused and C. did his best.  I just finally picked her up and brought her down.  You can see in the pic she wasn’t exactly as thrilled as C. was!

Not only did Freddy make pancakes, he made pancakes shaped like Christmas trees! He also set out the plates and cups for them tool.November 2012 003

This is what he left for me…. quite a mess there isn’t it?  I see an egg shell, flour, and batter all over the place.  He had a great time it seems!November 2012 004

He even made an elf sized pancake for himself.  Guess all that work made him hungry.November 2012 005

Sister was eyeballing the ornaments while waiting for the car to warm up so I took the opportunity to snap a few pics.  I liked this one.November 2012 009

Took this one tonight after supper……November 2012 027

When the kids got home from school today Freddy was gone.  He left them a note saying Santa called him back to the North Pole because he had a surprise for him to bring back to us.  wonder what it could be.? They are soooo excited.  I bet I wont have any complaints about bedtime tonight…. Smile

Freddy must have still been tired from wrapping our potty in wrapping paper the day before because he took it easy today.  D. was the first to find him.  He usually is. Today he jumped out of bed like a ninja to go in search of the elf. The other two, not so much.  One was carried down the stairs from her bed and the other mumbled stuff that I didn’t even try to understand.  My elf hunter was scurrying from room to room while my sleepy heads laid on the couch.  Now this is not always the case.  Usually all three are scurrying around looking for him!

He’s baaaaack!

Freddy the elf has returned for another season of fun and games!  We found him the morning after Thanksgiving while we were getting ready to leave for a weekend in PB.

November 2012 012

When we got home we found him on the mantle over the fireplace.November 2012 014

This morning before school the kids found him hanging out with the pilgrims.  They seemed to get along quite nicely.November 2012 018

Sister had to get one last look before heading out.  Last year Freddy went crazy with some of his antics.  We figured it was because we were in a new house.  wonder what he has in store for us this year?November 2012 020

104 days of summer vacation…..

and school comes along just to end it… sing along with me. No really.  Every person in my house knows the words to that theme song and also knows the characters that sing it!  On our last day of our trip we got to meet them.  I caught the boys reactions when they first laid eyes on…May 2012 680

Phineaus and Ferb!  We didn’t do a bunch of waiting in line to meet characters this trip but we most definitely waited to meet these two.  Afterall, the boys did dress up as them for Halloween one year.May 2012 685

I even got in on the action!  Love me some Phineaus and Ferb!May 2012 696

Let’s Go To The Movies..

Our last park of the trip:May 2012 632

This is a fun park. Well, they are all fun I guess!  It is supposed to look like a big movie set. Those Disney folks really know how to make you feel like you are in the REAL place:  San Fran right? Nope.  A backdrop they constructed. But, man it looks real!May 2012 645

One of the attractions the kids loved was the playground made to look like the old movie “Honey I Shrunk the Kids”.  Its made to look like a backyard where everything is giant and you are made to feel like a tiny ant.  Like this pic of a waterhose spout and blades of grass:May 2012 650

I couldn’t find the boys at one point and found them over in a corner.  They had discovered an area where one of the giant sized flowers squirted water.  It was a bit warm that day and that water was nice and cool! They loved getting soaking wet as all little boys do.May 2012 676

May 2012 678

Sister spent the whole time playing in the net maze.  I think it was supposed to be a spider’s web.  The kids could run all over and climb and slide on the ropes.  She. LOVED. it.May 2012 679
