SPRING BREAK!!!!
We took our annual spring break zoo trip this morning.

We were joined by some friends and between the two of us, it looked like we were a small daycare on a field trip!!

Our zoo has added a new interactive bug world for the kids. This was no doubt the arachnid exhibit. That is a TALL spider web there isn't it? They all loved climbing on it. See the hot pink bow at the bottom of the picture? Well, it didn't stay there long....

YEP!!! She went to the top ALL. BY. HERSELF!!! Can't take my eye off this kid for a second!!!! Cooper scaled up quickly to get beside her. Then he "helped" her get down. I won't go into any details but we had a discussion about the difference between things brothers help do and the things mommies help do.
He now understands the brothers don't "help" younger sisters get down from 7 feet!!! Thankfully no tears were shed durning the "helping"!!

Day 3....he's got it licked!

This boy amazes me. He picked this up so fast. He's a "watch and learn". He's been watching his bubbie very closely and knew what to do. Go Big D!!! On this afternoon, he kept asking me to hold the seat and run with him. I told him to wait until I could get supper finished. After I got it ready I told him I was going to walk out to the street to meet our neighbor and then we'd do it and for him to go get ready. As Mrs. MN and I walked up the driveway, here he came all by himself! She and I both stopped dead in our tracks...that little boy was soooooooooo proud of himself, and for good reason!! So was I!!

Well, now we have figured out how to unscrew lids...It just so happens that my small jar of skin cream is just about the right size for small hands, and if I fail to get the lid on correctly....

My little helper...

She will decide she wants to do something and then BAM! she's figured out a way to do it. She wanted to see what I was doing, soooo she grabs a barstool and climbs up!! I really don't think she understands the fact that she is only two.
Actually, she wasn't two yet when Jamie snapped this!

I am starting to realize that she has what ever situation I find her in...like this one..all under control. Used too, I would find her like this and freak out thinking she was gonna fall. Well, I truly believe that if I would just shut up about it and stay calm, she'd be fine. My shrieking is gonna be what makes her fall!! See, look how calm I am in?The thing you can't see is that my toes are curled really tight and sweat is rolling down my neck..

Our favorite dessert around here?
ICE CREAM!
It can be 30 degrees outside, and they want ice cream...in fact, I think it was 30 degrees when I took this picture.
And YES, I realize the baby doesn't have any socks on..she's a tough cookie..she took them off herself and it was close enough to bath time that it wasn't worth the fight!!

Did you know that ice cream tastes much better sitting on the kitchen floor?
