Here's another installment of "Homemade Thanksgiving Stuff"(for lack of a better term.....) So, this was the one I was most excited about. I told the boys we would make them and then wear them for Thanksgiving Dinner.
We constructed turkey hats.

LOTS of cutting, which is a wonderful thing for those boys. I was trying to catch a snap of Davis' "Concentration Tounge" (you know, when kids stick out their tongue to help them work on something..) but it disappeared...

Our completed Turkey Hats!!

My favorits part about the hat? The wings were the kids handprints!!! Look at Rubye Ann's little paper hand!!

Conversation that was had in the driveway when we got to Jamie's moms house:

Cooper: Where's my Turkey Hat Mama?

Me: ................

Cooper: *staring at me with big blue eyes*

Me: (grumbling) They're at home...we left them.

Continuing in the holiday spirit..we made Turkey Cookies the other day. Candy corn for the feathers are placed on a sugar cookie. Of course you can see the candy thief in action!

Then a mini Reese's cup held on with some chocolate icing...
Take a break for licking of the fingers, can't have "dirty" fingers now can we?

TA-DA!!!!! Turkey cookies!! Happy Thanksgiving!!

We're getting into the holiday spirit around here. The last two days we've been making Thanksgiving cookies. On this day we made Mini Pilgrim Hat Treats.
Melted chocolate, mini marshmallows, and fudge striped cookies were all we needed. The real way to make the treats was to use the regular size, but after looking at it, I decided to scale down a bit. Anyhoo, they rolled thier marshmallow around in the melted chocolate first. *That mark on Davis's face under his eye is actually CHOCOLATE. We had just gotten started when I took this. How does that kid do it?!?!??? Seriously, I think they were rolling the second mallow in chocolate here!!!LOL LOL

Next was to place chocolate covered mallow on top of cookie. Then I came in and put little yellow "buckles" on with icing.

Final step....hog down on some treats!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry about the phone being front and center in this shot....
Not sure how I didn't notice that!

I give you Mini Pilgrim Hat Treats!! They kinda tasted like a s'more. Yum!

We left Mack's and headed to Mr. Paul's place. The boys got a tour and did they ever had fun!

I think Rubye Ann was out side a total of 10 minutes....it was C-O-L-D!!!!!

Davis got in a little target practice!

When we got back to Bubba and Sazzy's Rubye Ann had a great time playing with the other baby.....the one in the mirror!

So, we made it home! We were quite busy this trip. On Saturday we took the boys (and girl) to Stuttgart to Mack's. The boys were all decked out in camo and ready to hunt. Here they have snagged a couple of geese..

..and when they found the toy gun rack, they thought they were BIG STUFF!!

Rubye Ann found the Hunter Dan display...right below was the Hunter Ann doll, btw.

Looks to be just the right size huh?

On Friday I got my birthday present a little bit early! Yea! Can you believe I'll only be 25?!?!?!?!

*ahem*

The boys think it is awesome to sit at the island and eat breakfast.....I like all the extra storage.

The island came on Friday afternoon. Jamie was leaving to go duck hunting that day after work. He told me he would put it together for me on Sat. Well, if any of you know me well, you know that took ALOT of restraint on my part to not go ahead and put it together right there on the spot. I have a "thing" about putting stuff together... (more like an illness) Remember Sparky and the Christmas lights on Christmas Vacation? Kinda like that.....

Anyway, I left it alone. Mainly due to the fact that now Cooper was sick and needed breathing treatments along with Rubye Ann. So Saturday rolled around. I had been eyeballing that box all day. I said somehting at supper about putting it together. Jamie said "Oh yeah". Well, there was an LSU game on that night and he was tired. He only had 3 hours of sleep the night before at the camp due to an agressive snorer. He said just get it all out and organized and i'll do it tomorrow. Well, i got it all out and sorted. then after the kids were in bed I got after it.... Jamie was watching the lsu game.

Around halftime when the tigers were getting the stew beat out of them Jamie went to bed. He said he felt sick and he looked awful. So, there I was. Island pieces strewn all over and a terrible lsu game on. The score was like 31 to 3. I decided to keep the game on for noise while I finished. I was only paying half attention to the game when I realized that all of a sudden it was the fourth quarter and now the score was 31 to 17. Then it was 31-24. I wondered if I should go wake up the lump in the bed. The next thing I knew lsu won that game 31-40. I couldn't believe it..the only person in the house who could care less about lsu football ( any football for that matter) was the only one sitting there watching it. How ironic is that?

Cool Dude Coop here....just letting you know why my mom didn't post yesterday. See, I woke up early before school and came in the living room as she was sitting down to type and I announced that I want to sit on the couch and I wanted her to snuggle with me. I've always been her snuggly one, anyway that's the reason. Then she never had the time during the day.
Here's someting else cool....my school got cancelled today(that's the cool part)because of "an aggresive stomach virus"(that's totally UNCOOL) So far we all feel fine.....Cool.

On Monday, Cooper's class celebrated being in school for 50 days by dressing up like kids from the 1950's.
We told Cooper that the guys slicked back their hair b/c it made them look cool.
We told him that the guys flipped up thier jacket collars b/c it made them look cool.
We even played the "Happy Days" tv intro to show him how cool Fonzie was.
He was NOT impressed...at all. See?
That look on his face is not him trying to be cool....it's him being put out with the whole deal. He doesn't like to wear bluejeans. So, the look on his face worked for the pic didn't it!!!
We thought he was C-O-O-L!

Cool Dude Coop!

Being a super hero will wear a fella out.....

So Friday was the boys' first camp out. The tent was set up at Lincoln Parish Park. Our friends the Robbins' were there as well. The kids had the best time playing in the tent on the air mattresses!!

Jamie was "Fire Man". He worked on his fire until it was roaring....."Now that's a Fi-yah!"

Love this one...

We snapped this one as I was about to leave....
Surely you didn't think I would stay....Mommy don't camp....
My idea of camping involves two words: 1. Holiday 2. Inn
The woods are too creepy....plus I had a sick baby at home!
My boys had an awesome time though! The big one included..

Cooper's class makes classroom books that each child gets to bring home during the year. This book tells all the kids names and what they like to do. Apparently, the book was made back in September, my guess is the week after Coopr got to go dove hunting...

"That's the blood Mama from where the bullet hit the dove."

The crew...
