Here's a crooked picture of Davis' castle cake. It didn't look crooked when I snapped it...

The orginial plan was for his party to be in the front yard like last year. But, it rained EVERY day the week before the party, and cardboard castles and wet grass don't go together very well. So, we were very lucky that our Family Life Center at church had not been rented out.

We went to the farm for the opening day of dove season. Here's the boys trowing rocks at the barn. I mean, they are AT the barn and throwing rocks, not actually throwing the rocks at the barn. Throwing rocks has been a favorite pastime of theirs since they were both little bity boys.
I took these while we were waiting for the big boys to get back from the morning hunt....

I couldn't believe he did this. If anyone ever wants to know where Rubye Ann's daredevil streak came from you won't have to look too far; her daddy and Aunt SuSu....
That slide goes STRAIGHT DOWN....his back had huge red marks all over it when he got off. He told me that you are going so fast that you come off the slide a bit and get banged around. I don't call that fun.... Nope. No way. "Not gonna do it"... ( that last sentence needs to be read out loud using your best George H. Bush impression...)

Well, today was a milestone at our house. Davis had his first day of Pre-K.
Here is my sweet boy looking all kinds of grown up in his school uniform..

He was sooooo exctied!! I was, well, I was sad. It was so much harder to watch him go to pre-k than when Cooper went. I cried on the phone on the way home to Jamie and my good friend. Then when Rubye Ann and I walked in the door, I started crying again because there was not a little boy jumping up and down asking a million questions. I stood in the door way and sobbed. I was holding Rubye Ann and do you know what that child did????? She laughed at me.
