I need to interrupt the duck report to show you what I am now up against. I was fixing dinner and could hear the three of them squealing. It was funny to me because I had never thought she would become a cohort this early. But, I can see the writing on the wall. This girl will do ANYTHING if it will make her big brothers laugh....Like I said, I heard them all squealing. Then my Informer (Davis) comes around the corner and tells me "You gotta come see this Mama." Here's what I find:
She's looking over at the Informer for approval....

Not good for Team Mom.
If you look close in the tops of the pics, you can see her brothers calling to her from the top. She was squealing as loud as she could. She was sooooo proud of herself!!! I overused the word squeal, but that is the only way to describe what I was hearing!!!!!!!!!!

Well we made it back all in one piece. I'm tellin' you though...there are just not enough hours in the day. I got up yesterday ready to blog about our weekend and the next thing I knew, it was bed time!! Anyway, here are our little hunters. It was about 5:30 am when I snapped this.
They got their first real duck calls too. Their names and birthdate are on them. I think Daddy bought them when they were both born.
I was told the hunt was unsuccessful. But they didn't seem to be too bothered. There was too much other to do...like their "favortist" pastime....throwing rocks.

It's official. I've gone batty. Literally.
Yesterday was a crazy day. I had an extra six year old with us from about 8 am until 5. So the house was buzzing a bit more than usual. After lunch we had an appointment to get out chimney cleaned. Well, the guys showed up early, like while the kids were eating. So that eneded lunch. Davis watched with his hands over his ears. They were here about 30 minutes or so. I was out in the front yard with what seemed like the entire gaggle of neighboorhood kids when the chimney folks left. They also left our back dooor open btw. The mom of my extra six year old came by to check on him and I went inside with her. We are standing in the kitchen talking and she has Rubye Ann while I begin the FIRST attempt to clean up from lunch. Rubye Ann begins to kick her feet and point her arm in the direction of the breakfast room and making an "uh, uh uh" noise. My friend says "What is she doing?" I said, "Something has caught her eye and she wants to go see it." So, said friend starts walking in the direction of Rubye Ann's arm Then stops and says with quite a bit of alarm in her voice, "What is that? On the floor, what is that? Is that a bat?"
I swing around to see this little fuzzy brown lump on the floor flopping around. YEP. IT. IS. A. BAT!!!!!!!!!!!
At that point I'm totally completely freaked out. Can you blame me?!?!!? I mean really, a bat. I called our neighboors next door and asked her to send her husband over to help. So he comes over grabs a pastic bag, covers it up and PICKS IT UP....ALIVE. He carries it outside and LETS IT GO! I personally would have much rather it had been killed, but at least it was out of my house, so I was not gonna be picky at that point. That bat crawls out on the bag and flops around kinda drunk like on the concrete and then takes flight, COMES RIGHT AT ME then flies over my head and off way up high somewhere. I think I must have had a few small heart attacks during this whole thing. So, I'm thinking we got a visit from our bat because the chimney was cleaned out. Which means.....THAT NASTY, THING HAS BEEN LIVING IN THERE FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG...... Do you have the heebie jeebies? I do.

Rubye Ann has discovered the fun of Cooper and Davis' bathtime....She will be playing in the kitchen and hear the water running. She will drop whatever toy she has and speed crawl down the hall squealing the whole way with excitement. I'm tellin' you that is a baby with a mission..

Aww, it was nothin'....piece of cake.....eaaaasy greeeeesy......my mommy can already see a difference in me!! I'm glad it's all over though. I know her and Daddy are too. I didn't like that yucky liquid they gave me before they took me back. Mommy REALLY didn't like it when they took me. But, I know it was a little easier letting me go b/c she knew the nurses who took me. I was a bit upset when they brought me back to Mommy and Daddy. I didn't like the way I felt, but I got a bottle and that made it a little better. I am at home now and happy as can be!!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Dr. Neal, Jody and Mrs. Newton for taking care of our Lil'Bit!!!!! It was so much easier to handle knowing she was in such good, caring hands!

So yesterday morning we went into the clinic to get a re-check on our month long ear infection. She will be getting tubes in her ears on Thursday.
This is all new to us since the boys never had ear problems.
This is all new to us since the boys never had ear problems.
I'm a little nervous and relieved at the same time. I know she will do fine. But, the thought of handing your baby over for surgery....well.....that's scary. Cooper had a small procedure when he was 2 and I remember how I felt when I handed him over. I'm not looking forward to that. But, if this will make her feel better, I have no choice...
